Friends Lake Inn is open now. It is open 24/7.
It was fantastic, one of the best meals we have ever had.
This spot is a gem - sits alone in the Adirondacks in a beautiful area of rolling mountains and pristine lakes. The menu is fantastic - from hearty meats to delicate fish dishes and beautifully done appetizers. We had four in our party and noone was dissappointed - everything was prepared perfectly.
Once again, Chef Matthew Bolton prepared a fabulous Valentines Day dinner for us. Very relaxing atmosphere, yet an elegant dining experience in a charming Adirondack Inn. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating.
This was the second time my boyfriend and I went to Friends Lake Inn. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic.
From the moment we walked through the door, everyone was friendly. The bartender was knowledgeable and flexible. The wait staff was polite, attentive, but not overbearing. The food was fabulous! Even my husband, who can be a picky eater, was appreciative of the fine dining experience.
The restaurant and food experience was superb! My husband and I look forward to adding this restaurant to our monthly favorites. The service was impeccable!
While Friends Lake Inn is a bit off the beaten path, if you love being in the middle of the woods (literally), this is the place you can escape to. Outstanding wine list, bar and more formal dining room menu, makes this a worthwhile destination. Vegetarians be forwarned, there are some veggie-friendly menu items but this place loves meat and does a great job preparing it.
Yes, this Inn has all the makings of a gem; great food, great wine selection, great Adirondacky feel. But what stood out to us most was the service. The Staff seemed genuinely proud to have us visit and I got the sense that they felt as though they were welcoming us into their own home. That made us proud to have the fortune of staying with them.
We try to make the trip to the Inn from Bolton Landing 2x a year. It is usually reserved for once in summer and then again for the day or two following New Years. As always it was outstanding. The food, ambiance, timing, wine and service always leaves us wanting more. The bar/pub area makes for a great pre-dinner cocktail. The highlight of the meal is usually the bananas foster. Can't wait until our next visit.
