We are glad that you enjoyed your room (Ida Lewis) and our location. Sorry if you found that we had too many “rules”. We are not sure exactly what “rules” you are referring to as the only formal rule is that smoking and candles are not permitted in guest rooms by state law. Other than that, we try to provide guests with several amenities (including coffee, tea, full breakfast afternoon baked goods and snacks) that are available to our guests. We do have signage to help guests know where things are and to be sure that dirty glasses and cups are not put next to clean ones that another guest may accidentally use. We are sorry if this made you feel uncomfortable. We try very hard to give our guests privacy yet be available to them as needed.
